Hans Speckaert : ウィキペディア英語版 | Hans Speckaert Hans Speckaert (c. 1540, Brussels – c. 1577, Rome), was a Flemish Renaissance painter active in Italy. ==Biography== According to Karel van Mander he was in Italy during the period that he was there himself. He wote that Speckaert was a good painter and draughtsman. the son of an embroiderer in Brussels and a friend of the painter Aert Mijtens.〔 (Hans Speeckaert ) in Karel van Mander's ''Schilder-boeck'', 1604, courtesy of the Digital library for Dutch literature〕 After a long period in Rome, Speckaert attempted to return to the Netherlands and got as far as Florence, but feeling unwell, so he turned back to Rome, where he died.〔 According to the Netherlands Institute for Art History (RKD) he arrived in Rome sometime in 1566 and died there over ten years later. He is known for portraits and historical allegories.〔(Hans Speckaert ) in the RKD〕
